Slphotography Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Hi When i us the HSL and adjust the colours to how i want them then hit merge it reverts back to the original colour state. I am using a MacBook Pro M1 Pro Max with operating system Monterey 12.5.1 the first phot i have attached are the colour changes i have made and the 2nd photo is the original colour state which hitting the merge button reverts back to that i dont want. I have had this problem on my old intel mac a few months ago but now and now randomly again this is happening as it did work before on my new laptop but the problem is now back. the weird thing is it does not do it on any other photo other than the sunset one in the screenshots attached at least not yet it hasn't filtered over to any other pictures i am working on. Please can this be resolved as i need affinity to work with as i am professional photographer that refuses to rent software from Adobe with there ridiculously over priced products and i love Affinity and have not looked back since i purchased it last year. I will try and get a video screen grab for you and attach it to this also so you can see what process i follow Simon Quote
Staff Lee D Posted September 1, 2022 Staff Posted September 1, 2022 Hi @Slphotography welcome to the forums. Not something I can currently reproduce on my systems, if you don't merge the adjustment and just leave it as its own adjustment layer does the colour change remain? Would you be able to provide a link to the image used? Quote
NotMyFault Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 The issue can happen if you have any extra pixel layer between the HSL adjustment and the actual image layer. Merge will merge the adjustment to the top most pixel layer below your adjustment layer, even if that layer is inactive. So please include a screenshot of the layers panel, before you hit "merge" Image 1: before clicking "merge" (HSL with de-saturation effect) Image 2: after clicking "merge": HSL is merge to the wrong layer, effect becomes invisible Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
