thomaso Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Rather incidentally I run into surprising results with objects that have Constraints set but aren't grouped as Constraint Group. The selected layers get influenced and altered by Constraints settings if … … I copy the selected layers + paste them into another document: an object gets scaled. … I use a Geometry function (any) with the opt key pressed: the entire result gets offset while its bounding box remains unchanged. … I use a Geometry function with the opt key pressed on the pasted copy. Here the Compound gets influenced differently than in its initial document: not offset but scaled. I am aware that this is not a useful workflow and it appears Affinity is designed to work with this combination (indicated by the resulting layer type "Constraint Compound") – but I would not expect the difference caused by copy/paste nor the difference in the offset versus scaled result. [Not in the video: the position on the page influences the results of Opt-Add by increasing the offset respectively the scaling, which increase from top-left to bottom right position on the page.] v1105 constraints & compound.afpub contraints & geometry oddities.m4v Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6
