UncleShane
trying to copy and paste and the pixels show up in the thumbnail and not in the image. turning on and off the layer does nothing. Attached screenshot shows the image in the layer, and not in the document I would love to use this as a Photoshop alternative, but this feels embarassingly unfinished and buggy. Staff NathanC Posted July 18, 2022 Staff Share Posted July 18, 2022 Hi @UncleShane welcome to the forums, I can see that your canvas zoom level is set to a very high value due to the small size of the canvas, is it possible that your pasted pixel layer exists outside of your canvas area? If you set your zoom level to 100% and select the pixel layer, are you able to see the selection bounding box? Additionally, could you attach your file if you're still having issues so we can take a look?
UncleShane
yes, I need a small canvas. I'm building out a web graphic and it has to place precisely in a small area. but why would it paste entirely OFF the canvas? like if I copy and paste into a new document there's no reason I'd ask it to paste off the canvas by default. I did eventually find it but this is not encouraging. copypaste example.afphoto

If you copied from an Affinity application, it may be maintaining the coordinates of the original object you copied when you paste.
