Pat Leong
Hi there, I am selling my M1 Macbook Air which my Affinity Designer, Publisher and Photo are currently installed. Do I need to deactivate them before restoring my Macbook Air to factory settings? Please advise. Best, Pat
PaulEC
Hi @Pat Leong, Welcome to the forums. You don't need to deactivate the apps. They do need to be removed from your old Macbook (they are not transferable to another user), but I'm assuming that restoring the factory settings will do that. If you want to install the apps on a new Mac you will need to go to the store (Affinity or Mac) you purchased them from originally and download/install from there on your new Mac. If you are going over to Windows, unfortunately the apps are not transferable between operating systems, so you would need to purchase the Windows versions. walt.farrell
Before resetting the iPad, you might want to open. My Account and make sure you've signed-out. That will remove the iPad from the list of registered applications in your Affinity Store account. If you do the reset while you're signed-in, I think the iPad apps will show up in your Registered list forever. That will not cause any problems, but might feel a little messy to you. If you sign out of the desktop versions, will the devices be removed from the registered list, or is it the case that when you log in on a new device it gets added to the list forever? - I have a mac in a different location I need to use Publisher on temporarily, but I don't want it stuck in my 'registered devices' list forever. walt.farrell
The device and app are added to the list when you sign-in to My Account within the app, and removed when you sign-out. jhonan 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
