Schousda Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Hello, i tried many options, but i didn't find a way to add a background behind multiple elements. For example, i want to have the autumn photo behind multiple rectangles, it should be visible in all of the elements. But i dont want to have multiple copies of the background for each element. Is there a way to do this, which i didn't find until now? Thanks. Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Do you mean behind (just drag it to the bottom of the stack) or within (as you've shown)? Schousda Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 The photo should be shown as background inside of the elements as in my example. Until now i only managed it, to have it as background of one of the elements. But i need it as background for multiple elements. Here in my example, the second rectangle should be filled too. Maybe this screenshots shows better, what i want as result. Just without having multiple copies of the background image. Quote
GarryP Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I think the easiest way to do this would be to use Compounds and put the image beneath them in the layer stack – see attached image. One problem with this is that the image is not ‘confined’ to the shapes – it is simply ‘masked’ by the outer rectangle which will also mask any other layers beneath it. If you need something different then we will probably need more information about how you are going to use this sort of thing. walt.farrell and Schousda 2 Quote
Dan C Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Another option, very similar to GarryPs suggestion above would be to Group the Quick Shape objects, and apply these as a Vector Mask to your image layer - however the same will apply whereby the one image is simply masked to these objects and not a separate version confined within each: 2022-06-07 14-33-36.mp4 I hope this helps Schousda and walt.farrell 2 Quote
Schousda Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 I tested both and i think, both will work for what i need. Next i will check, which fits best to my needs. Thanks a lot for your fast support. GarryP and Dan C 2 Quote
