K channel selection lost when copying objects

Recommended Posts

This is a known, Affinity typical issue for years and caused by general colour conversion between documents of different CMYK profiles even for text in 100 k. It also affects specific colours for instance used for logos, expected to remain consistent (e.g. simple 100c, 100m, 100y). It was reported and discussed several times without success, yet. For instance:

A possible / required solution would be a currently missing option or preference like preserve colour values / swatch definitions independently of a profile conversion of e.g. images.

One workaround is to have the profile of the receiving .afpub set to "Generic CMYK Profile". – There are a few workarounds, none of them seems to be really satisfying because of causing other disadvantages or new issues, e.g. using a spot colour swatch for text.

However, to fix this issue after copying it is helpful to have saved text styles assigned to all text, this can make the fix easier. Also, for text colour, you can use the Find & Replace format option to switch a colour, with "Replace All" for an entire document. – See also the suggestion of @MikeW in this tread:
