nommu Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 (edited) Dear affinity users! I want to create an inspection sticker. It's also called Prüfplakette in Germany. In the first picture you see what I've recolored and labeled, but I want to create an editable version (second screenshot). My problem is, getting the numbers aligned properly. I've used a font with fixed width, an ellipse and the cog tool for the white parts. A second ellipse, same size as the first, as text path. How can I accomplish this? inspectionsticker.afdesign Edited April 12, 2022 by nommu Quote
Old Bruce Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 I would not have the text (the numbers) in one line, I would have each month as a separate text frame. Then I would use the step repeatedly function to set them around the circle's edge. Use the Show the Centre from the Context Toolbar once you have selected the Text frame. Drag it to the centre of the circle's centre. Command + J then go to the transform panel and enter 360/18 in the rotation section. NotMyFault Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 While Old Bruce advise works well, it has the disadvantage that you need to enter all numbers again. You could achieve even spacing by using the text paragraph style, and set a default tab stop. Then enter one tab key (instead of space key) between all numbers. Unfortunately Affinity does not allow to change the default tab type to "center", this would get an even better distribution. Consequently, added 12+1 tabs manually (to even get the 1 correctly aligned) and shifted the little green rectangle to hit the center. inspectionsticker_tab.afdesign nommu 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
