MarioM
I have a word file with several styles. When I place the file into an affinity publisher file, the italicized words in some of the styles carry over, but in other styles they do not carry over. I've attached drastically abbreviated versions of both files below with filler text. (The original is over 600 pages). I hope someone here can help me figure out how to carry over all of the italicized text. test document word.docx test document.afpub
Staff stokerg Posted April 6, 2022 Staff Share Posted April 6, 2022 Hi @MarioM, The font that's been used, Tahoma doesn't contain an Italic version, which is why if you tried to type with that font in Publisher, the I for italic is greyed out, as we don't allow for applying a faux/fake version of italic and bold, like some apps do (Word being one of them). So that's why this text loses the italics when you open it in Affinity. There is a version of Tahoma called 'Tahoma faux' that can be found online, which you could install but you'd then have to apply that font to the words that should be italic. MarioM
Thank you stokerg! That clears things up nicely. I was truly mystified by what was happening. You saved me a LOT of time.
