Exporting as PDF in X1a with bleed

Recommended Posts

Hi

My printer is asking for a PDF in X1a format. I go to file/export and choose the only preset option in the drop down that has X-1a in it ('PDF (X-1a:2003'). As soon as I check the 'include bleed' box, the preset disappears. Is this supposed to happen. Is it still exporting in the chosen preset, or what?

-- In fact I noticed that the preset disappears whatever choice you make when the 'include bleed' box is checked.

Thanks for all/any your help.

Cheers - Mark

Using Windows 11 and AfPub

Hi Mark,

As far as i'm aware the export still uses the settings from the preset selected, the reason the preset dropdown is lost upon checking an additional option such as 'include bleed' is that the setting doesn't fall under the default settings for that particular preset, and as such it disappears from the box.

@mark5171, don't forget that you can create your own custom preset if you use PDF in X1a with bleed often.

how would I create my own custom preset?

In the Export window, click on "More" & then in the window that opens, click on "Manager Presets." That should expose several options in yet another popup, one of which is "Create preset..."
