In Publisher I imported a client's file from Pages and there are several extra carriage returns throughout the document. I assigned two paragraph styles, Heading 1 and Body, then went about fine tuning each page. If I place the cursor before the first letter of a paragraph and hit delete, instead of the paragraph moving up one space it toggles the entire paragraph between the two styles. See attached screen shots showing effect of hitting delete key. How can I make the delete key work properly? I'm on a MacBook Air with M1 and latest Publisher update.

I think you have set the space before or space after the paragraph to be 12 points instead of 0 points.

If you think there are double character returns then you can use the Text > Show Special Characters menu item to show the tabs and spaces and returns etc. in the text.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks Bruce, it's not the space before/after, I'm aware of that and sometimes there is definitely a visible extra return between. But I did narrow it down a bit. I think that it is something in the Pages coding that is getting copied and pasted into Publisher and doesn't like the coding that Publisher adds in a style. It is also related to the order I do things.  If I paste the text in and immediately delete the extra return, all is fine. But if I apply a paragraph style first then hit delete, this happens. So to remove any mysteries, I pasted first into Text Edit as plain text to remove all formatting then again into Publisher. This is the first time I've been given a Pages document to work with so now I know that there's a gremlin somewhere in the mix.

I work with Pages and haven't noticed this before, I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks for a heads up about a possible bug gremlin.

Hi @moonliiner,

If you'd like to upload your afpub file and the Pages file to our Dropbox here i can run this issue past our QA team and see if we need to log anything with the Dev team to handle this better :)
