Hi,

When exporting to Selection Only the original dimensions of the artboard change.

My artboard is 4500px x 5400px, PNG and when I export it to "Selection Only" the dimensions always change to 4501px / 5401px.

Can you fix this, not sure why it's doing this.

Please adivse,

Thanks!

Wicked to the Serif Affinity forums.

It is likely that your Artboard is not properly aligned with the pixel grid, and has X and Y coordinates that are not integers. You may need to open your Designer Preferences, User Interface section, and increase the decimal places used in displaying pixel units to 3 or more. Then with the Move Tool active, select the Artboard layer and check the Transform panel.

Hi Walt,

Thanks Walt for your reply.

I changed the pixel to 3px instead of 1px as shown in the screenshot, but still get the different measurements when trying to export into a png.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Can you show us the Transform panel, when you have the Move Tool active and the Artboard selected in the Layers panel?

Sure, below is the screenshot. As mentioned, my original size is 4500px x 5400px but as soon as I need to export it as a png, I select the "Selection Only" and the dimensions always change. In this case they change to 4501px / 5401px.

Please advise how to fix this,

thanks,

We need to see (and you need to look at) the Transform Panel, to check the position/size of the Artboard.

Look at the X coordinate in your screenshot. It is not an integer value.

It must be an integer or you will get the size change you have noticed.

So, click in that box and make the value an integer, 192976.

Hi Walt,

Yes, it seems to have resolved it. Wonderful!

Is it possible to have the artboards move only in "integer" or whole numbers and not in decimal numbers?

Can we manage this in preferences?

Thanks!

I don't understand how this works.

I clicked on "Move by whole pixels" & "Force Pixel Alignment" and when I use my mouse to drag an artboard, I see the X & Y axis in the "Transform" Panel that it moves , arboard to a decimal number.

Nothing different happens.

Try disabling "Move by whole pixels" & leave "Force Pixel Alignment" active.

"Move by whole pixels" does exactly what it says it does, so if there is a decimal value to begin with, moving it by whole pixels will preserve that decimal value by just changing that value by whole pixels.
