When I create an artboard in Designer, my background gets really bright

Recommended Posts

This is something I just now noticed, as I've never used Artboards in Designer before. When I make an Artboard, the whole background is a really bright gray color as opposed to the default nice dark gray. How can I set it up so that when I'm using Artboards, it's still the nice gray color instead of the really bright gray?

Hi @Elarionus,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Go to Affinity Preferences, User Interface section, and adjust the Artboard Background Grey Level.

Yes, it works. but again when I open the file after closing it, the background again goes to Light Mode.

Is there any way to make it default, no matter how many times I create a new project, it will always stay in dark color.

Do you mean the background outside the boundaries of the artboard(s) or something else? Have you noticed that there are two background grey level options, one for documents with artboards & a separate one for those that have just a single canvas & no artboards? Are both set to a darker grey?
