Masking brush never fully opaque

Recommended Posts

I would like to have a "perfect" brush, mainly for masking purposes.

When I try to use the brushes listed under "masking", I am never able to get a full black on the first stroke. The brushes have been reinitialized, the color is a perfect black. On the screenshot, you can see the first and second masking brushes (soft and hard). The black stroke is made with an "ink" brush.

I have triple-checked the settings, opacity, accumulation and flux are all on 100%. And anyway, I only use the default settings.

I can't see your full screen but it may be that you have "Wet Edges" ticked

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

That was it! Thank you very much. I wonder what that is and why it is ticked by default...

It is set for some brushes and you'll find that in the brushes panel.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
