Rondem Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Cant change the value above 100% in Edit Text Style/Optical Alignment. In Character panel it can be changed above 100% as shown in the image. 120% can be added only by Updateing the text style from selected text frame. Dan C Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Hi @Rondem, Thanks for your report! I've been able to replicate this here and therefore I've logged it with our developers now. I hope this helps Rondem 1 Quote

I had the same problem when I started using it but after seeing a demo form Serif's channel, I was able to get it to work. I haven't been able to replicate your issue when I follow a specific workflow. From what I understand, adjusting the Optical Alignment in the character panel can be useful if you only need to adjust only certain sentences in your document without affecting the global style by design. Its also very useful since fonts can differ in their design characteristics. I follow a specific workflow based on a video demo and what the manual states, and it seems to work as designed. In your case for right alignment you must also first make certain that your text is set to right align or justified, whatever your intention is. After that is done, you must highlight the punctuation character first before you can see any changes made while making the adjustment. As you increase the numbers you will see the changes happening live. Of course you can update your existing style globally as an option. An excerpt from the manual states that you need to select the character . . . Source: Optical alignment (affinity.help) There is an excellent demo of this in action. Source: Affinity Publisher channel YouTube Video title: Affinity Publisher - Characters: Optical Alignment The bug is that you cant enter more than 100% when you edit text styles. But can in the character panel. The only way you can edit that valeu above 100% is by changeing some text and updateing text style and you can see that the value can be bove 100% but it cant be enterd manually.
