Josie Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 When I convert to curves how do I put any word in the shape of a heart especially this one? When I adjust the nodes as well? William Overington 1 Quote
Alfred Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 That’s a tricky thing to do well with a single three-letter word, and I think you’d need a more contrasty background than you’ve used in your example. If it were me I’d forget about the heart-shaped background, keeping the Ms as they are and using a heart for the O. William Overington Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 What result is @Josie trying to achieve please? How does adjusting the nodes come into it? Nodes of what? I understand Josie to be trying to do something like this, but with the word ‘MOM’ instead of the word ‘LOVE’. 2 hours ago, William Overington said: How does adjusting the nodes come into it? Nodes of what? Nodes of the curves that result from applying the ‘Convert to Curves’ function to a piece of text. Since AD doesn’t have a vector warp tool, you need to adjust the nodes of such curves manually. William Overington Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Could one have the 'O' as an ellipse with major axis vertical, with all upon a heart shape but not trying to make the 'O' fit the cusp of the heart? William Overington Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 How are flowers inthe lettering done? The letters 'M' seem to be the same shape as each other but the flower fills are different. If big, er, artistically distorted, letters 'M' are produced, are they basically transparent holes within an opaque heart shape and a flower pattern that is behind shows through? That’s certainly one way of doing it: create a text object, position it on top of the heart shape, and ‘Subtract’ the text from the heart so that a flower pattern positioned under/behind the heart shows through. An alternative is to clip the flower pattern to the letters. William Overington Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Would it be best to start with two hearts the same size. Then convert one to curves and cut bits away from it so as to produce the letters 'M'. That way the left-side of the first 'M' and the right-side of the second 'M' should hopefully fit the heart shape pefectly. Then use the second heart to get the heart shape cusp in the middle and at the cut-away places. Woukd that work?
