Ferriero Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hi! When I export a small file it is very grainy. The resolution is 300 dpi The size of the export is the same that I work on. How can I fix it? Thanks! Quote
John Rostron Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 How big is your 'small' file (in pixel dimensions)? Could you post a screenshot of your image at 100% and also the exported grainy file (as png or jpg). John Quote Windows 11, Affinity Photo 2.4.2 Designer 2.4.2 and Publisher 2.4.2 (mainly Photo). Ferriero Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 Thank you John! Size: 86 x 63 px I attach what is required Quote
John Rostron Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I don't think your exported image is grainy. Because it is so small, the anti-aliasing is pretty conspicuous. Did you create the small image by shrinking a larger version? If so, you might try different scaling algorithms (such as nearest neighbour or bicubic) and see if this looks better. Ferriero Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 No, I created the image from a vector. I send you a new attach where you can see the exportation moment. Quote
GarryP Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I have just: Clicked on the attached small image; Clicked again to view at 100%; Right-clicked and saved the image; Opened the saved image in Photo. And my attached image is what I see, zoomed in, and it looks pretty awful. Ferriero: Is your attached image a direct export from the Affinity application, via one of the export functionalities, without any further processing? Quote
Ferriero Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 I don't see the awful images. I attach the original file .afdesign Yes I exported it without any further processing. Thanks GarryP Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 WYSIWYG You can enable "pixel" or "retina" view and directly see how the export will look like. The result is as expected, with very low resolution, anti-aliasing at the edges, and banding by 8-bit color depth. GarryP Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) Ferriero: Thanks for attaching the original document. I’ve just done a quick export from it and I get my attached image (zoomed in) which is much clearer. At the moment I don’t know what could have caused the problem you got. NotMyFault Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 by slightly adjusting width and position you get a little sharper left/right edge.
