font traits vs font weight

Recommended Posts

Hi,

What is the difference between 'Font traits' and 'Font weight' in the 'Edit Text Style' panel? When using the Google font family Mulish i can see 16 different Font traits and i can select them but only one (greyed out) Font weight (Extra-light). Selecting any of the Font traits gives me on screen the proper result (bold, black, etc..) but exporting to pdf always leaves me with 'Extra-light', the Font weight. What is going on?

Regards,

Hans

Hello @Vruchtvetand welcome to the forums.

sorry, solved it. I mis-installed the font :-{

I'm guessing you installed the Variable version, rather than the standard fonts?

The default master in Mulish is ExtraLight. And when variable fonts are not supported the fallback font is the default master.

So he definitely installed the variable font.
