Possible to change Ruler Ticks?

Recommended Posts

Hi

For some print work, I have set my rulers to use mm. I noticed, that there are three level of ticks. However, I find the intervalls between the major ticks not to be very "metric". they are, but often they distance between two ticks is something like a 1/4, 1/5, 1/8 etc... Is there a way to change this to 1/10? For instance have each intermediate tick to be 1mm instead of 2mm?

First example, each intermediate tick is 2mm:

Second example, each intermediate tick is 4mm:

The whole thing about metric is using factors of 10 or 0.1, which makes it a lot easier to follow. The way they are setup is kind of counter-intuitive since the factors change depending on the zoom level.

Thanks

phil

This issue has unfortunately been waiting to be addressed for quite a long time. :(

Thanks for the quick reply @Alfred

It's a real shame such things have not been addressed already... I also just read a long thread about showing red overlay for masks that was requested in 2017 and apparently it still has not been implemented. It feels like solid software, but just really lacks some of the basics. Well, let's see what my next few days of trial will bring up.

Best,

it has nothing to do with the topic of Affinity metric rulers not being decimal

It's just a workaround in cases where some otherwise scaled rulers are needed. - When in trouble with Affinity's own ruler scales the inside the transform panel shown and editable values are more accurate, sometimes also a custom setup grid might be a better way to get a visual scale representation.
