  1. Hi I have got this stamp than on one of the "fringes" was a bit special, so that I could not easily get it with the brush selection tool. Now I am trying to figure out, the easiest way to duplicate part of the existing mask and paste it inside the same mask to correct the mask. Basically take one fringe (as highlighted in the image below) and the copy that part of the mask to the left... Tried copy/paste but it will only create new layers with image content not mask. EDIT: maybe it's possible to copy the whole mask, then delete everything so only some fringes remain and then merge it with the original mask that is missing the fringe? thanks phil
  2. Thank you @v_kyr but as far as I can see, it has nothing to do with the topic of Affinity metric rulers not being decimal...
  3. Thanks for the quick reply @Alfred It's a real shame such things have not been addressed already... I also just read a long thread about showing red overlay for masks that was requested in 2017 and apparently it still has not been implemented. It feels like solid software, but just really lacks some of the basics. Well, let's see what my next few days of trial will bring up. Best,
  4. Hi For some print work, I have set my rulers to use mm. I noticed, that there are three level of ticks. However, I find the intervalls between the major ticks not to be very "metric". they are, but often they distance between two ticks is something like a 1/4, 1/5, 1/8 etc... Is there a way to change this to 1/10? For instance have each intermediate tick to be 1mm instead of 2mm? First example, each intermediate tick is 2mm: Second example, each intermediate tick is 4mm: The whole thing about metric is using factors of 10 or 0.1, which makes it a lot easier to follow. The way they are setup is kind of counter-intuitive since the factors change depending on the zoom level. Thanks phil
  5. Thank you @Ron P. I actually missed the video on Clipping vs Masking, and that's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot! Regarding masks, I have been watching some YT videos that use curve layers to apply Dodge & Burn nondestructively... Will play around with that and other adjustment layers to see how the masking works. Best,
  6. Hi, I am currently on my trial trying to decide whether or not I should buy Affinity Photo. While I have watched most of the official tutorial videos, I have a hard time getting my grip on some basic task. Basically I want to add a canvas in A4 (because I have A4 photo paper for print) and then add several Images on that canvas and make a few adjustments/edits to each of the images. Crop each image/layer resize each image/layer to a specific size make some adjustments and edits to each layer/image While I could make some adjustments (like brightness contrast etc) I find doing cropping and resizing/cropping of layers not intuitive at all. Maybe someone can direct me in the right direction on how to accomplish those (normally easy) tasks. Thanks and best phil
