I tried to open/access the help file on my desktop and couldn't. Pressing F1 adds another Publisher icon next to the first publisher icon but there is no content. The only way I can access the content is if I go into my C:/ drive --->program files --->  affinity----> publisher ---> publisher help ---> Contents ---> resources -> index.html but it opens it up in a web page

I have the same problem with affinity photo. Designer opens up the way it should.

I don't have this problem on surface pro 4

I reinstalled the program tried the repair option and still nothing.

Hello @Mikhael Shadow and welcome to the forums.

Press and hold the FN button until the FN LED lights up. When switched off, the function keys are assigned with manufacturer functions.

That's right, that should open in a webbrowser since it's a basic HTML file. Also that file extension, as default, will be associated to your Win systems main webbrowser. - An Affinity apps internal help system is just build-up like a smaller browser module which then shows up their HTML based help files.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

It has nothing to do with Fn key because when I open the program click on help and click on Affnity Publisher Help F1 nothing happens. Well it opens a little icon next to the original one (on the task bar) but when you hover over it with the cursor nothing pops up or opens up.

I didn't have this problem till I installed the version 1.10 it worked before.

Question is what's broken inside affinity publisher help menu? I don't want to go to C:/ drive every time. When you start Affinity publisher, design or photo hitting F1 should open the help file but it doesn't for some reason something didn't install the way it should've btw designer works the other 2 don't. Also going via menu clicking on Help ---> affinity publisher help F1 doesn't do it either.

UPDATE: After restarting the computer clicking on F1 key or going via menu and clicking on help--> affinity publisher help it works again!
Thanks for your suggestions hopefully this topic might help someone down the road if they encounter the same problem.
