SteveFDF Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Hi, I am new to Affinity Publisher. Version 1.10.4 I have a document that i need to export to a Print Ready PDF. I have chosen to include in the "more" section all layers, but it still does not include my fades/gradient layers i need on the art. Can anyone help with this issue? Quote
GarryP Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 If you can show us what the original document looks like, and what the printed output looks like, then someone may have some ideas. Otherwise we are simply guessing as we can’t see what you can see. A screenshot showing your Export dialog – and the More dialog – would also be helpful so we can see what your export settings are. An additional full-screen screenshot which shows the problem layers visible on the canvas and selected in the Layers panel would also be useful. Quote

If these gradients don't show up in an exported PDF it might be caused by their transparency and the export settings, respectively the PDF version. Not every PDF version can handle transparency but either rasterises them or ignores (truncates) them. If they appear to be ignored (don't occur in the PDF) and the "Rasterise:" menu option was set to "Nothing" change it to "Unsupported properties". (Note, the app preset is named as "(press ready)" or "(for print)", there is no app preset named "print ready".) Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
SteveFDF Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Thanks for some feedback. Here is the art...what we desire it to look like. This is how it comes out after the export. Here are the setting i have for the export Quote
thomaso Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 In your screenshots I don't see a reason for nor can I reproduce this issue. Can you upload an .afpub containing at least the affected gradient objects? Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

Old Bruce Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 It is the transparency on the green rectangles, either rasterize or replace with gradients. SteveFDF Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 I will try that now. Thank you @Old Bruce Quote
thomaso Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I can export the transparency gradients successfully as vector if I delete + recreate them. They seem to be corrupted in your .afpub.
