In Affinity you may need to adjust the workflow. 
 

  1. Start with pixel layer of page
  2. Use Mesh Warp tool on image to flip page (it shows still the front  side). May add extra grid lines to limit warp effect to corner (no selection)
  3. Use Pen Tool and gradient fill to create shape to cover part of image where the backside should be visible.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.
