My tool icons do not expand when the white arrow is clicked.  Please help

I am a new user.   My tool icons do not expand when the white arrow is clicked.  ALSO,   please, please, and more please make the tool icons bigger. . . lot bigger!

Is it a click or a click and hold? Might need the latter, the click hold.

Are you using a Windows computer or a Mac computer?

Note that you can customize the Tools panel via View > Customize Tools... (not to be confused with Customize Toolbar ... on the same menu). So among other things you can set it to use 2 or more columns of tool icons & place individual tool icons (ones that do not require clicking on the triangle) anywhere you want in the panel.

For the tool groups with triangles, you can click & hold anywhere on the tool icon -- it does not have to be on the triangle -- but if you want to expand it to show all the tools in the group without waiting you have to click directly on the triangle itself.

On Windows you have three ways to expand the tool icons that have a white arrow in the lower right corner:

1.) Left-click on the white arrow. You do NOT need to click and hold.

2.) Right click anywhere on the icon, which is easier than trying to click the tiny white arrow, especially on hi-res monitors. Again, you do NOT need to click and hold.  

3.) Left-click-and hold anywhere on the icon.

In all three cases, you can release the mouse button and the list of tools will continue to be displayed until you click one of them or click somewhere else.

FWIW, right-click does not work for this in the Mac versions.

Thanks for your help.   Now if they make the tool icons larger it will be perfect.   Michael
