Judy B Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 I’m thinking of buying a new 2021 IPad Pro and wondering how the affinity apps for IPad will function. Are they the same as for Mac and Windows, which I am currently using. Thinking of going with IPad Pro because of it’s display upgrades and 5-G connectivity. It can also be connected to an external display, as can the MacBook, of course. I do lightweight graphic design and format multi-page brochures and programs for music and other non-profits. I’d love to replace two machines with one and would love input on whether this makes sense. I currently have an iPad Pro 2nd generation, but don’t have affinity apps on it. Thank you! Quote
R C-R Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 (edited) The iPad apps have a reduced feature set compared to the desktop ones, & of course for now there is is no iPad version of Affinity Publisher. Judy B Posted November 14, 2021 Author Posted November 14, 2021 Oh, thank you! I hadn’t looked far enough into it to know that publisher isn’t available yet . Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 You will also, of course, need to purchase the iPad versions of the applications. The Mac versions you've already purchased won't work there, and in any case the apps are licensed separately by platform (Windows, Mac, iPad). And the interfaces are quite different, so switching will be another learning experience.
