Shortcut for "Add geometry" is creating a "Compound" instead of a "Curve"

Recommended Posts

I'm using Windows 10, and I think I might have found a bug. I am trying to create a keyboard shortcut in Designer in order to Add Geometry.

Here is the problem:

While customising my own shortcuts: "Layer - Geometry > Add" and "Layer - Create compound" are both doing the same thing when you add different shortcuts to them (on my keyboard).

Here are the shortcuts button I chose to use:

"CTRL + ALT + A" = Geometry > Add

"CTRL + ALT + P" = Create compound

Someone who tested this on a Mac said they had no issues, but I can't get my shortcut to work properly.

I find the same. However playing with this a little more, I think it's the ALT key modifier that's the problem. If you replace the ALT with SHIFT, for the Geometry ADD, it works correctly.

Right. Alt (Windows) or Opt (Mac) is used to create compounds, and this carries over into the shortcuts, too, though it's not specifically mentioned in the Help.

The use of Alt/Opt is mentioned, though:
