jackamus Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 About 2 Beta updates ago I asked for advice about saving my workspace and Styles for the New Beta upload. I was told that I couldn't save my work space but I could save Styles. I was spoon-fed on how to do this and the two previous times that I tried I failed! This time, somehow the workspace has been saved but the Styles have reverted to the default styles. How could the workspace get saved and yet the Styles are not there? I still have the previous version 1.3.5.7 with my wrokspace but no Styles. Why? The latest version 1.3.5.10 also has my workspace but no Styles either. When I check Applications>Library>Containers in Finder I can only find one version of AD Beta. Why? This is getting confusing! Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff Leigh Posted November 27, 2015 Staff Posted November 27, 2015 Have you installed RC1 yet? If so, did the same thing happen? Everything has been reset for me, which is expected. Quote
jackamus Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 What is RC1? This what I'm going to do when I download the latest Beta to try and preserve my styles. 1 Close current AD Beta 2 I will drag the 'Application Support' folder to the Desktop from: Desktop>Go+alt>Library>Containers>com.serif.affinitydesigner.beta>Data>Library 3 I will download the new AD Beta, open and close it. 4 I will do step 2 to the new AD Beta. 5 I will then drag the old 'Applications Support' folder to the new 'Applications Support' folder in the new AD Beta and hope that it will ask me if I want to overwrite the new file. This is as far as I got the last two times but without success. I will wait to see if I get any response from the Forum before trying it. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff Leigh Posted December 1, 2015 Staff Posted December 1, 2015 RC1 was the latest beta build at the time of writing but RC4 is now the latest build. Do you save your styles in the default category or a new category? If you save them in a new category then it's possible to export them from within the Styles Panel. Quote
jackamus Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 What would the difference be between 'Default' and 'New'? Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff Leigh Posted December 4, 2015 Staff Posted December 4, 2015 The "Default" category is created by the app. You must have created the "New" category in the past. Quote
