Staff Ash Posted June 27, 2014 Staff Share Posted June 27, 2014 And would be cute if you start typing in a text frame with Lorem it fills with place holder (maybe with the inserted place holder selected so you can just hit delete if you really did want to start a passage of text with Lorem!). o0MSK0o 1 Quote Managing Director Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! Staff TonyB Posted June 27, 2014 Staff Share Posted June 27, 2014 Great idea. If we auto selected the inserted test then you wouldn't need to delete the unwanted text as the next character you typed would delete it anyway.
Dave Harris
Cute idea. I'm not sure it works, though. It relies on the Lorem Ipsum text always beginning with the word "Lorem". This isn't true for PagePlus, and arguably it shouldn't be true for some foreign languages (working on a Russian document you probably want sample text to use Cyrillic characters). It's not very discoverable, so we'd need a menu option as well. It means typing 5 letters, which is a lot of keystrokes, especially if you were in a mousey mode. I'm hoping to make AutoFill an attribute of text frames rather than a command, so it updates dynamically as the frame is resized.
Dave Harris
"Insert Filler Text" should be in this week's beta. It's on the Edit menu rather than being triggered by typing "Lorem", and it behaves like a power field rather than a text frame attribute or a one-shot command.
