If you mean you have a line of dots, can't you just change the font size of that part of your text? Yes, if you specify a custom character to be used as the line: You could make the stroke width a character style to make formatting easier and coherent but I am not sure if it can be made automatic, and part of a paragraph style (e.g. in table of contents...). Certain fonts might also have a suitable line character at low position so that there is no need to change any style parameters.
