Hello! I'm exporting a large (80 MB+), 140 page PDF from Publisher 1.10 on Windows 10. I just started getting this error today after setting up BOOKMARKS for the first time.

I just tried exporting without PDF bookmarks and it worked like a breeze. Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @sulcata,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I do believe that certain PDF export issues have been resolved in the latest beta, could you pleas try downloading this from the following link and installing it alongside your retail version, so that you have 2 versions of Publisher installed -

Are you able to export your document correctly here?

If you're still having trouble, then I'd like to create a PDFlib.txt file, as this should contain more information regarding the exact cause of the export failure. Please see the below link for how to generate this -

Many thanks in advance :)

so here's my PDFlib. I hope it's useful!

Do you perhaps have a text frame that you've put outside of a page, that has a bookmark pointing to it? It would be something about "The Paracausal Pugilist".

It looks like that was the issue, Walt, thank you! I had the anchor attached to a curve that was extending off of the page. I moved the anchor to an empty picture frame on that page and it seems to get past that step, now. Thank you both!

Hi folks, I hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread, given that I have exactly the same issue!

I've been through the process above step by step and come to the same output: trying to export with bookmarks kills the export (though hyperlinks are all okay!) - here is my pdflib file.

Does anyone have any insight into what's going off before I file this over to support? Thanks!

Hi @SubTric,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I can confirm that the error message shown in your PDFlib.log provided is a very close match to the previous PDFlib.log file, provided above by the OP.

Can you please confirm for me, do you have any text frames or objects outside of the canvas that have bookmarks/hyperlinks applied to them? This appears to be on Page 19 of the exported PDF - related to the 'Character Sheet'?

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi Dan!

That seems to have sorted it - the image in question is a little larger than page size and so is contained within a Picture Frame. It is actually the picture frame that I applied the anchor to, but that moves into the bleed area, which I assume is where the issue came from. I've just removed that bookmark and all is well!

Thanks!
