gentleclockdivider Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 After performing a boolean operation on multiple elements , how do we get one of the elements out of the unified object ? I tried copy, then paste outside the element but it pastes the whole object ( with all the elements ) Quote
gentleclockdivider Posted August 14, 2021 Author Posted August 14, 2021 Yes , but this divides all the elements . Quote
PixelPest Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Select all nodes from the unwanted object with the node tool and hit backspace. Quote
R C-R Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 If you want to copy just one object, consider creating a compound instead of a normal boolean. To do this, just hold down the Alt/Option key when you create the boolean. For example, in this compound.afdesign file I created 3 rounded rectangles & added them while holding down the Option key on my Mac's keyboard. If you expand the "(Compound)" layer you can still see the 3 individual rectangles, but more to the point, if you double click on one of the compound's objects in the workspace with the Move Tool, or click on one of them in the layers Panel it alone will be selected & you can copy it without the other shapes also being copied.
