srg Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 AP version 1.10 when launched the first time takes more than 20 sec to open a 360MB file but, the Beta 1.10 takes only 4 sec. Incredible!!! Quote
Marco G Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Same here. Icon bounces at least 20 times in tray until the splash screen appears. Not sure where the improvement of launching speed is. srg 1 Quote

Not sure where the improvement of launching speed is. Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I didn't see anything in the Release Notes about an improvement in launching speed. And from the last information posted by Serif, the problem with Apple scanning the Affinity applications before letting them start has not been resolved yet. 1 hour ago, srg said: AP version 1.10 when launched the first time takes more than 20 sec to open a 360MB file but, the Beta 1.10 takes only 4 sec. From my understanding, the slow startup issue only affects the Mac App Store versions of the Affinity programs. As the betas are not delivered via the App Store, they should not be affected. srg Posted August 8, 2021 Author Posted August 8, 2021 OK thanks for the clarification. For me all that is incomprehensible since I have no idea of what it takes to write a program but of course it looks a little funny that the beta is better than the final. There are other major problem in the memory and/or layers which I posted numerous times about and that will probably never be resolved. Unfortunately. Quote
