Weird dark lines around the inner border when using gradient fill

Recommended Posts

When applying a gradient I'm noticing these dark lines within the inner white border of a shape. I have no styles or effects set. When I use a regular fill I still see it to some degree, but it isn't as noticeable. I thought maybe it was a rendering issue that would resolve itself out when I zoom out or export, but that's not the case. Any way to get rid of it ?

Found the solution myself...Whoever comes here having the same issue, just change the settings from "Align Stroke to Outside" to "Align Stroke to Center". Don't know why that fixes it, seems weird....

Doing this would constrict the object and make it look narrower. If that's the case, in the same section under align, just change the order from "Draw Stroke In Front" to "Drawn Stroke Behind". Hope this helps someone...

I would use no stroke on those objects.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I would not expect that to "fix" the problem, as you'll still have a 5pt stroke showing around the gradient. It will be harder to see, as it will only be half the width, but it will still be there.

I'm with @Old Bruce: why have a stroke at all?

I have and want the white stroke around the gradient. My screenshots don't show it, but I'm actually using a black background. I just don't want those black lines within the stroke to show when I use the gradient. Doing what I did fixed that, but not sure why the black lines would have been there in the first place
