Les Wilson
Downloaded trial version to replace PS. In a new or existing document, selecting the eyedropper in the color picker results in the color black being selected. It's as if the mouse coordinate is off and clicking the eyedropper is interpreted as clicking the black color adjacent to the eyedropper. 1) Open New 2) Create two objects and set them to different non-black colors 3) Select one object, click the fill color in the header to get the color picker 4) Click the eyedropper At this point the object fill turns black. The same behavior is experienced for stroke and all 3 sub tabs of the picker. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. If you're talking about this eyedropper then the answer is that you do not click it. You drag the eyedropper to the place you want to sample. That will set the small color well next to the eyedropper. To apply the color you then click on the small color well. Les Wilson
Ahhh I see. In all the tutorials I watched, it looked like every other eyedropper I've encountered. I never thought to drag. User error. Thank you.
walt.farrell
You're welcome. The Color Picker Tool works like you were expecting, but not this eyedropper.
