  1. Thanks @MEB. I am on Big Sur. It isn't as reliably reproduced as I initially thought. Of course I reproduced it just now on the width input box of the Export window after 5 tries. Thinking I had the exact steps, I started a screen capture and .... no dice. In typing 1920 for the width after double clicking the field, what I see when it does happen is typing the "1" causes the highlighted previous value to be cleared and the preview is displayed as a blank checkerboard. The "1" is not echo'd in the text box. One hint of where the bug might be is in the initial state of the input focus. Sometimes the Export dialog is displayed with focus on the Width field. Other times the input cursor is blinking inside the previously used value in the Width field. Other times the Width field is highlighted. And yet other times input focus is nowhere to be found. I thought I had it nailed down when I canceled out of the dialog and did anther Export. That's when I noticed the cursor was already in the Width Field. Double clicking the initial value in that state caused the problem. But alas, I could not reproduce it. So my gut says its related to the initial state of the preview/input focus/cursor/field value.
  2. I have this problem on DOcument resize, canvas resize and transform. THere's prolly a ton of them. I always double click the number and start typing. That reliably reproduces this bug.
  3. Thanks. I couldn't find another report of the problem ... there are so many ... and one gargantuan "I hate the UI" kind of thread .... I have the contrast at maximum and font size at large. It's horrible.
  4. I hope this gets fixed. I can barely use V2. I tweaked the UI settings as much as possible but the color chosen for Layer names is a UI design disaster. Yet some layer names are nice a legible. I have no idea why. I'm hoping this is a BUG not a WAD.
  5. Kinda. That works for the photo realistic stuff and I can make it BW no problem. But the classic criss-cross and box hatches (see attached) are mostly what I need. Back in the days of MacDraw, they were glorious. But I digress. LOL
  6. I'm doing some architectural graphics and need just some basic fill patterns. I've watched the tutorials on how to use them but unless I'm missing something, I'm not finding any that come in Affinity Photo. I've searched but not turned up any. Not sure if I am looking for vector or bitmap. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing. Can anyone recommend a fill pattern package? Are PS ones compatible? TIA
  7. Yes it still happens on both displays. It's worse with the Beta. I've attached the file if that helps. I adjust the Outer Glow on any of the 3 text objects to reproduce the problem. Bye Bye.afphoto
  8. Hi, The Beta does not resolve the problem. When Metal is enabled, the problem occurs. As before, when it is not enabled, it works fine.
  9. I don't know if this is a bug or a WAD. If "Enable Metal Compute Acceleration" is turned on, I get the shown display corruption when adjusting effects. Turned off it's OK. The blocks move around during adjustment. They do not appear on the exported image and go away after re-opening the file. I DO have the AMD Radeon Pro 560X graphics adapter and are running Catalina.
  10. Ahhh I see. In all the tutorials I watched, it looked like every other eyedropper I've encountered. I never thought to drag. User error. Thank you.
  11. Downloaded trial version to replace PS. In a new or existing document, selecting the eyedropper in the color picker results in the color black being selected. It's as if the mouse coordinate is off and clicking the eyedropper is interpreted as clicking the black color adjacent to the eyedropper. 1) Open New 2) Create two objects and set them to different non-black colors 3) Select one object, click the fill color in the header to get the color picker 4) Click the eyedropper At this point the object fill turns black. The same behavior is experienced for stroke and all 3 sub tabs of the picker. Mac Book Pro 15 2018, Mac OS 10.15.7, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
