Uber noob question

Can you not make a simple flood-fill layer in Designer Persona (Affinity Designer)?     Or can it only be done in Pixel Persona?     All I want is a simple flat colored layer.     I know it's not monumentally inconvenient to switch Personas, but I just wanna know if I'm missing something.

Draw a large rectangle, fill it with the color you like and send it to the background. No need to switch personas.

You're welcome. Just for the sake of completeness: Affinity Photo does indeed have Fill layers, so if you own both applications, that would be another way to achieve what you want.

I'm not smart enough to run both apps.    And I'm having enough trouble just getting up-to-speed with Designer.   =]

If use Artboards, then set Fill color in Color panel.

Or Edit in Photo, and New Fill Layer.
