kirk23
Photoshop has this feature working pretty nicely. Not perfect but ok. Would love to see it in APhoto too . Then you can always convert it to a selection or a maks if needed. 11 hours ago, kirk23 said: Would love to see it in APhoto too My gut feeling is that it will eventually come along with the ADe "vectorizer" tool that we're all eagerly waiting for since years. It's exactly what I often do but isn't it cooler to just get a rough vector shape first and then tweak few nodes and corners . Photoshop is good for that contrary to many vectorizers that do a mess of nodes from everything. Better thing I ever used was only former Imagaro or Graphic Tracer . I stopped to pay their subscription because Photoshop selection to path + its "match font"+ huge free font collection is kind of enough for me. Still APhoto is so much better to work with vector masks because you see the transform gizmo only around the object you are working with, not the whole masked layer. In Photoshop it's so annoying
Staff MEB Posted April 20, 2021 Staff Share Posted April 20, 2021 Hi kirk23, It's also quicker to start with/generate a selection automatically then simply adjust the paths as needed after converting it, than to create the paths from scratch specially with complex objects. This is logged as an improvement but i have no idea if or when will be implemented. loukash and Trevor Reid 2 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

A curve cleanup with the Node tool will then work the same back in Photo as well.
