Copy only selected Lines. (Affinity Designer)

Recommended Posts

Hi and welcome to the forums @nkkn_niklas,

No it is not. Your best bet is to duplicate the curve and then use  the Node tool on that duplicate to select and delete the unwanted parts of the curve.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

There have been several requests to enable copying only selected nodes but AFAIK so far there is no way to do that -- copy always copies the whole shape with all its nodes.

is it possible to copy only a part of it like in illustrator ?

Slightly clunky but relatively easy workaround:

  1. duplicate the object while having the Node tool active
  2. Select All (selects only the nodes on this object, which is a Good Thing™!)
  3. deselect those nodes you want to keep (use e.g. the node "lasso" modifier)
  4. delete the selected nodes

I.e. more or less a reverse workflow than in AI…
