Persechino Art Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Dear Affinity support, I am using the current version of Affinity Designer, but I have a problem. When I'm painting (Pixel Persona) and for some reason I stop using the Pinsel to use any other tool and go back to the Pinsel tool it returns with the wet Edges function activated or when I resume working with the Pinsel tool, and reduce or increasing the size of the Pinsel happens again, the wet Edges is activated automatically. This bothers me. Is it possible to configure Affinity so that it doesn't happen anymore? Thank you very much. I appreciate the attention and await the response Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 14, 2021 Staff Posted April 14, 2021 Hi @Persechino Art, Welcome to Affinity Forums This depends on the brush settings. Some brushes activate wet edges by default, other do not, while other leave the setting untouched (as it's currently set/no change). When changing between tools these behaviours may cause the issues you are experiencing. Currently there's no way to turn this behavior off. There's few threads in the Feedback for Affinity section requesting/dealing with these issues - for example this one. I advise you to add your voice/feedback to that thread as well as it's where developers will look for improvements/suggestions. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

If the issue is related to switching tools, perhaps the Brush Tool Sharing setting in the Assistant Manager could help? It could be set to no sharing between tools. Not necessarily if the user has overridden the default state enabling or disabling the wet edges manually in the context toolbar. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

True. But in many cases it's happened automatically, and in those cases changing the Assistant setting can help. The other case it won't help is the common one of switching switching between different brushes while staying in the Paint Brush Tool. Staff MEB Posted April 15, 2021 Staff Posted April 15, 2021 You can't assume that. The user may have changed it in a previous working session. These settings are sticky. walt.farrell 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
