Hi aji,

It appears you are doing this incorrectly. You are dragging the Affinity Photo layer to the Links Panel with the Affinity Photo layer selected.

Instead, you need to select the layer with the properties you want to link and drag the unselected layer you wish to share the link with.

For example, set the Affinity Designer layer opacity to 25% and now select the Photo layer. Then Drag the Designer layer to the Links Panel that should say Affinity Photo and drop it on the Opacity & visibilty target. You're now telling the app that you want to give the opacity setting to the Photo layer.
