Scaling of path texts via percentage input does not work

Recommended Posts

When scaling many objects via the Transform palette by entering a percentage, e.g. for the width (50%), the path texts are not scaled as well. It does not matter if the checkbox "Scale with object" is set or not. However, such a scaling, i.e. via the percentage, is very important in order to precisely reduce or enlarge large files, e.g. maps.

Try the lock children option? Maybe the contents of the path (text) is treated like a child ?

Hi Claudia_D

This is currently by design. Frame Text and Path Text actually have two resize handles in the bottom right. The inner most one will just rescale the frame (or path objects) whereas the outer one will also scale the text. The Transform Panel will only ever scale the frame or objects as though you were using the inner handle, so in this case the text will remain unscaled.

However I can see the benefit of having the option the text scale when using a typed value, so I'm going to move this over to the feature requests forum. :)
