LaraJ
Hi! I need help understanding how to align two or more objects or frames. More precisely, when you have 2 objects (or frames) — let's call them A and B — how to align their horizontal centers so that object A moves and gets aligned to object B, while object B stays in place. So far, no matter which of the two objects I select first, they align in what seems a very random way (either A aligns to B or B to A, without me being able to figure out the logic behind it). I hope this makes sense. Basically I'd like to have more control over this and understand what I have to do to align object A to B or the other way around, depending on each particular situation. Thanks!
Xzenor
Can't you manually align A to B with the help of snapping? Quote Windows 10 Pro Intel Core i7-4770 3.40Ghz 16 GB RAM Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Samsung EVO 850 SSD

When alligning you usually can choose the aligning behavior, so if relativ to the first or last selected object etc. screencast.mp4 Xzenor, blackadderpress, Zatlap and 1 other 3 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
LaraJ
Thanks @v_kyr That worked. I was trying to do it from the Align function not the Alignment function in the toolbar. I thought they are one and the same. Even after changing the settings in the Alignment function the Align function doesn't respect the 'Relative to first' behaviour. Is this normal or is this a bug? GarryP
You could also try using the Alignment Handles (with snapping) as can be seen in my attached video. 2021-02-21 09-42-51.mp4
