Shaped text in publisher

I have a hexagon. The points are top and bottom. I want them left and right, so I turn it either by the turn handle or by the toolbar. Now I add text to create shaped text.

No matter what I do, the text aligns from the points, so instead of reading left to right, it reads from bottom to top. How do I correct this ?

Before adding the text, select the hexagon and choose the Boolean ‘Add’ command. The hexagon will be added to itself, resetting the rotation.

"Before" being the key part.
Out of curiosity I tried what happens if I do it the other way around: converting to text frame first and then boolean Add.
