Mike W077
I publish a monthly newspaper. It is full of linked PDF and Designer files. I foolishly upgraded to Publisher 1.9 without waiting for reports. Now, Publisher crashes whenever I try to open latest file! Tried back issues, but same result. How can I roll back the version number?
v_kyr
Depends on several factors, namely ... Did you possibly made own local backups of the previous installed Publisher 1.8.x version for your OS? Where did you purchased the app from? - At least the Affinity app store offers older version downloads. MikeDuf
go back to the update section/download page and download a previous version. You will have to uninstall publisher for that. I also had to revert all 3 softwares (Designer, Photo and Publisher) after updating them because they won't work no matter what I try. walt.farrell
If you purchased from Serif then you can uninstall 1.9 and reinstall an older version. If you published from the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store you can't. (Though, TimeMachine on Mac will let you do so if you kept appropriate backups.) If you purchased from Serif, then https://affinity.store/update/windows/publisher/1 or https://affinity.store/update/macos/publisher/1 (depending on your OS) will get you to the page with the older versions. Mike W077
Thanks for the replies. I did purchase through Serif, thankfully, and was able to download and install a previous version. Was able to open my files again. Whew. Also had an unrelated crash of my main computer, so a cascade of issues. Was trying to open files on an older machine with weak specs. However, it did work with the previous versions of Publisher and works now. Just FYI for anyone trying to open old files with the 1.9 version on a weaker machine.
