Christoph Werner
Hi. Do someone knows how to reset a transformed pixel layer resolution to its default resolution before it was transformed? Or is there a way to set an individual layer resolution to the canvas dpi resolution? I mean the current selected layer dpi display in the top left header info. See my screenshot: Best regards Chris
Staff Lee D Posted February 12, 2021 Staff Share Posted February 12, 2021 With the Background layer selected use Document > Resize Document. Uncheck Resample and adjust the DPI and click Resize. If a Placed document the DPI/Scale can be adjusted on the Context toolbar when the layer is selected. The DPI of any new layers that are created are based off the Background layers settings, if this changes the others layers update as well. But I think this doesn't work in my case. What I expect is in this example, so you can reproduce it easily: 1. Create a new canvas and a Fill layer as background. 2. Create a new pixel layer and paint something on it. You see the pixel layer dpi value is the same as the decuments dpi value, let's say 72 dpi. 3. Now transform the pixel layer. The pixel layer dpi decreases or increases, depending on the scaling. You can see the dpi value is changing in the top left menu bar. My question is now: How can I reset the scaled pixel layer back to the origin size when it was created, automatically? I hope it's clear now. Thank you. Any ideas? Only using History will do that but here are a couple of ideas In the example the green shape is a pixel layer The pink shape is a copy which I then did Copy/ Paste Special/ Paste as PNG, thie converts it to an Image So, the green pixel layer is resized and now shows as 125 x 72 dpi top left You can sort of restore that using Transform box and adding *125/72 to the width box. The problem with that is that '125' could be between 124.5 and 125.4 Far better to convert it to an Image then the restore dimensions box at top left is available Christoph Werner 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/
