Zappr
Usually it tells me there is an unsaved file that it has, but I accidentally clicked "no". How do I access the file where the backups are stored?
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. What OS do you run, and where did you purchase Affinity Photo? walt.farrell
If you purchased from Serif (Affinity Store), then if the autosaved file is still available you would find it by: Pressing the Windows key and R, then Typing %appdata%\Affinity into the box and pressing OK Then Open the Photo folder, and then 1.0 and then Autosave. It will be the .autosave file with the appropriate name, time, and date. You could try renaming the extension to .afphoto and then Opening it. wonderings
1 minute ago, Zappr said: I cant find that file. What do I do? You may be out of luck if the autosave backup is not there. Do you have an incremental backup in place for the entire computer? If so you could check the location from Walts reply from a backup around the time you were working on the file. Is there any other way to find the backup? like if I didnt buy it through the affinity store? Did you fail to find the file (as you said) or the folder? If you found the folder, but not the file, you may be out of luck. You could confirm where you purchased it, by trying to sign in at https://affinity.store/account/downloads and seeing if it shows you purchased Affinity Photo. If it doesn't show that purchase (or you can't sign in due to lack of an account) then you could check the Microsoft Store and see if you purchased it there. If you did purchase from the Microsoft Store, it's possible you would find that folder at %appdata%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Store)\user\ but from another recent topic it's also possible it would be at someplace like <your username>\AppData\Local\Packages\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto_844sdzfcmm7k0\LocalCache\Roaming\Affinity\Photo Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Callum Posted January 25, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 25, 2021 Hi Zappr, Welcome to the forums Id you clicked no to the restore message when opening the app then the auto backup will be deleted I'm afraid. Do you not have a manual save of the file? If not then I would recommend doing this more often in the future. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
