SusB Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 I want to place a cropped picture into a Photo document (a book cover). When I copy the cropped picture, then paste it into the new document, the entire picture comes across, including the part I cropped out. How do I removed the cropped part so that it is truly gone? In the attached file, you can see the photo hanging off the edge of the green book cover. I've marked it with red. How do I make it disappear? (Sorry to bother with this, but I can't figure out how to ask the question in such a way to search for the answer!) Quote
SusB Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 Never mind. I think I figured it out. I just selected the part I didn't want and cut it. So obvious! Sorry to bother anyone. It's late. I should put down the mouse and back away from the computer. v_kyr 1 Quote

Crop in Affinity Photo is non-destructive, this means that the rest of the crop is still stored in the document, so it can be viewed/restored again. If you need a destructive crop, so you need to permanently remove the cropped residue, then you must use Rasterize and trim. There are many requirements on the forum for crop destructiveness to be set, so Rasterize and trim does not have to be done.
