Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @RamseyD. 22 minutes ago, RamseyD said: Considering purchase of Affinity Photo. There’s a free ten-day trial available via this link: https://affin.co/phototrial If you decide to go ahead and purchase a licence from the Affinity Store you get a 14-day ‘no quibble’ money-back guarantee. https://store.serif.com/help/#returns Please note that the Microsoft Store version of the app is not covered by the above guarantee. The fact that the MS Store version runs in a sandboxed environment also means that some Photoshop-compatible plugins may not function correctly. 22 minutes ago, RamseyD said: Please direct me to instructions on how to Import from PSE to Affinity Affinity Photo can import PSD files and has the ability to interpret ‘Smart Objects’ but there are no facial recognition features. Although you can choose to import PSD text as editable text, any text is rasterized on export to PSD format (but not, for example, on export to PDF). Most of those things, since Affinity Photo doesn't have a build in image/album organizer or facial recognition like PSE has. Further as Alfred already indicated, your export file formats for exchange between those two apps then are limited to PSD & PDF (beside the common bitmap image formats both apps support aka JPG/PNG/GIF/TIFF). Have used Adobe Photoshop Elements for many years PSE is DAM with photo editor (like Zoner), APhoto is only photo editor. Therefore, replacement will be problematic because you will lack DAM functionality: 3 hours ago, RamseyD said: Albums, facial recognition, location information? It's like replacing PSE with Photoshop without Lightroom. I would try to use PSE as a DAM (album), and APhoto as a better photo editor.
