Layer names have group group added to them

Recommended Posts

Found a weird (low priority) bug.  First really saw it in the 1.9.0.10 beta but then found it exists in the MAS also.  When the attached file is opened a group named Tube support is selected.1411375266_ScreenShot2020-12-07at7_59_05AM.png.626ca783cfbbf6460e6685cae2f5b71d.png  Click on the name to highlight it as if you were going to rename the layer.884115555_ScreenShot2020-12-07at7_59_45AM.png.8aaf7042d5471c40b418dcd33053edee.png  Then while the name is highlighted click on the thumbnail but while doing the click jerk the mouse a bit.285944158_ScreenShot2020-12-07at7_57_52AM.png.349f61ddb17a5f2bfa132e9a45f776cb.png  Suddenly it's a group group group.  The first two groups have been added to the layer name.  The contents of the group group group don't seem to be changed.  If it's copied the copy is also a group group group.

File Test2 is the original file.  File test3 is after it's been made a group group group saved with history on.  The history shows 904293005_ScreenShot2020-12-07at8_21_24AM.png.00191e7cfa2a4f14650524c28621eb6a.png

I think I've stumbled into having to remove the repeated layer type from a few layer names over the years.  This is the first time I actually saw what caused it.  So I think this bug has existed for years.

It also works for a curve type layer producing a curve curve curve layer.  Or a rectangle rectangle rectangle, etc.  If the layer doesn't have a name 1610272714_ScreenShot2020-12-07at8_38_02AM.png.4b5092a8ffba4cf4850cac5fe46c9004.png then the layer type becomes the name (only once) and no type is shown. 1284525775_ScreenShot2020-12-07at8_37_44AM.png.839145867bbcdfe9e15a09d5a46eeaa4.png

Weird huh.  Think of it as an early Christmas present.

Hi Gear maker,

Thanks for letting us know - it is actually something we're already aware of and is with development to be fixed. As you mentioned this occurs when a Layer is moved whilst it is in the 'rename layer' state - for whatever reason it is appending the object's type to the name!
