GreenKitten Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Hi all, I am having a little trouble creating a patterned stroke. I have created a brush with the pattern I want to have. When I create a stroke (using straight lines), the pattern gets warped a bit (the rectangles become parallelograms, which I don't want). The dashed effect as seen here (on the National Rail lines) is what I am looking for. When I use the vector brush function, this does get the result I want but unfortunately you can't draw straight lines with it! Is there anyway to get the desired effect (rectangles, not parallelograms) using the stroke function? Thanks for all your help. Quote
Staff DWright Posted December 3, 2020 Staff Posted December 3, 2020 Is it possible for your to export this brush and post it here so see it settings. Quote
PaulEC Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I don't use vector brushes very often, so I'd never noticed that you can't draw a straight line, like you can with a pixel brush. That really is daft! 😲 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)
lepr Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I wouldn't use a brush for that style of line. AD now supports multiple strokes and fills on an object, so you can use a dashed white stroke on top of a solid coloured stroke as in this document: dashed.afdesign Quote
