Roxanne S
Hello, I recently purchased a IPad Pro 12.9 version 14.1 and I have a simple question. How do you delete a selection in Affinity Photo. It seems the delete button should work but it doesn’t and somewhere I read use a long double click. That doesn’t work either. Thank you, Roxanne
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Roxanne. In the Photo persona (but not, annoyingly, in the Selections persona) there is a ‘Delete’ command on the menu that pops up when you choose the Move Tool and long-press anywhere on the canvas. How have they not rectified this yet?! This has been an issue since at least 2018 based on other threads in this forum. I just downloaded the iPad version and have to do a lot of select > deleting and this is seriously a bad enough flaw to send me back to Adobe. So frustrated. There's a thread in the forum for that purpose. Devs apparently look at it but don’t comment there. 🙂 I suspect that from Affinity's point of view there is no issue. By design they have Selection Persona dedicated for Selecting. Photo Persona is dedicated to editing. If you want to 'edit' the selection then you need to use the Photo Persona. However, I agree it would be easy, and useful, to add the feature to the selection pop up menu. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
